Spider Plant, Chlorophytumcomosum

If you think you have a black thumb, but really would like some greenery in your home, the Spider Plant is for you. This resilient and lush native of tropical South Africa is easy to grow and will recover from occasional neglect. Also called Ribbon plant or Airplane plant, it has variegated foliage and sometimes produces small, white blooms. ‘Spiders’ will grow in low to high light, and likes some humidity. Water regularly and let dry before watering again. Fertilize monthly. When the roots fill the pot, the plant will send out baby plants on arching shoots. These can be cut off the mother plant, and placed in water till roots grow. Before you know it, you'll have a Spider plant in every room of the house! Like many house plants, Spiders are excellent at absorbing harmful indoor air pollutants, and even better, are safe to grow around all pets.

Our Dublin garden store and new Home store is across from the Wendy's™ headquarters on S.R. 161. Our beautiful new store in New Albany is on U.S. 62, south of New Albany town center.
